Spring is upon us! AFPD would like to remind you not to forget to clean your dryer vent PIPE - (that's at the back of the dryer where it connects to the wall of your home.)
Your lint filter trap should be cleared after every load, but dryers need general cleaning to maintain safety and reduce the risk of a dryer fire. The vent pipe needs to be cleaned at least once per year.
FACT: 2,900 home dryer fires arereported each year and cause an estimated 5 deaths, 100 injuries, and $35 million in property loss. (Source: USFA)
